What is Zonal Cavity? The Zonal Cavity method, sometimes referred to as the Lumen Method, calculates the average maintained horizontal illuminance on a work plane. It can either determine the number of fixtures you need, given a desired average illuminance OR determine the average illuminance, given a set number of fixtures.
